Here are some Marketing Tips and things I have done to market:
I can remember how often I have dis-regarded the option to include words for the "Tag Option" given on various sites. Tags really are great for a bit of optimization of your submissions.
Also, you can list your business with goolge, yahoo and yelp listings. There are several more sites that will list your business. Also, don't forget to include your business signature on your emails, forum posts (if allowed), mail outs, letters, etc.
Buy free business cards (250) from vista print or make your own if feasible. Make sure to keep a small stack handy to give to new people you chat with, friends, waitresses, fast food stops, tack on business poster boards from other businesses that have card boards.
Flyers are great to post in laundromats, in break rooms, or give to your niche market potentials. I don't like the idea of placing flyers on people cars while they are not around. Simply brain storm your idea places and be sure you are not in violation of premises...when in doubt always ask for permission.
Give flyers and cards to trusted friends/relatives who maybe surrounded by your niche market to pass on to others who may benefit from your services/products.
During Holidays brains storm ways to promote what you have. The holidays are usually a great time of cheer and relaxation for some which could change the atmosphere for granting a "listening" ear or "opening eye" to what you have to offer.
Now, to touch basis on a few on line methods: you may want to google search for "free classified" sites and market your products/services with the various classified sites. I have tried many but honestly free classified are not my favorite; They are more like freemiums. Freemiums are freebies that also entails to pay options which carries the value of the service given. Therefore, sometimes free is not always best...so don't expect a whole lot from the free classifieds...well again that's only my opinion.
Google Search Forums and Groups to join in your market and schedule a few minutes/days out of the week to mingle or participate. Try to be resourceful in the community to by adding feedback , inspiration, motivation or supportive comments to your "fellow" group members.
Write articles to promote your business if you love writing. Ezine Articles is one of my faves. Simply google or use your favorite search engine to find a list of Article writing Sites that will allow you to credit your website/business. You may also consider promoting a business blog about what you do or your products/services.
Video Marketing is great as well. Make a video explaining your biz or service to others and promote your video through face book, twitter, forums, groups and blogs.
Set up your Free Profiles with sites like Manta, Yahoo, Spider Sales,Google and Linked-In. Once you are sign with Linked-In make sure to join the groups in your niche market. There are a hoard of group to join and make connections. Linked-In has and is making many changes it seems. Pin-interest is another site worth checking out; You can establish boards and pins for your products/services. Pin pics that are captivating and interesting and lead the viewers to desire an interest to check you out further by visiting your submitted link or website.
I know this is getting rather wordy so that's it for now and I hope this helps someone who has not an idea on where to begin or how to market and get the word out there....I know how frustrating this can be because I have been there.
